I'll be the first to admit that winter hiking is hard ❄️
But I'll also gladly be the first to remind you that the best things in life are the hardest. Huge shoutout to Alex for joining me on this type-2 fun kind of day!
As you can tell from the second photo, the snow was manageable at first. Then, once we hit the wind-blown, shaded section in photo 3 and we were literally crawling through snow, I was impressed that she still wanted to keep going.
Even once the section in the fourth photo hit, she was still down to push for the views! And yes, she is standing up in that photo. It's snowy out here, y'all!
For anyone looking to get outside on a lesser-traveled trail anytime soon, I think it's safe to say that it's snowshoe season.

Week two training for Duathlon and New York City Marathon. I was very lucky to have a very talented training partner today come out and pace me pasny64.
we had a bike escort and Photographer jaimepchien that helped us maintain pace but also work on hydration. This workout I really want to focus on to marathon fitness within myself. The previous marathons I have ran super fast but it’s been some time since I really found my pace in the marathon. Today was all about feeling good but also not working too hard. The first couple 3 miles were a little fast trying to find the rhythm but also trying to get used to the humidity and the air quality of weed in New York. The last 2 miles I was trying to learn my technique but also I felt still a little sore from last weekend. With running 28 marathons total the mileage definitely puts some beating on your legs. This year for the marathon my goal is to get my leg stronger but also work more on my stretching. Total time for 6 miles was 34:17 12 weeks to go!!

Sunday's #az48halfmarathon az48marathon ! First time being a pacer and.... I loved it! It was a great experience (despite the route being a bit short).
Big thanks to hellyontherun for inviting me!
It was really gratifying to help folks achieve their goal pace/time. I got a few thanks after the race, one lady (her name escaped my mind) who PR after 15 years told me that I really helped her by cheering and chatting with her through out the race. There were a couple of guys in towards the end that were struggling to keep going who a "pushed"/motivated to keep going and got a second wind and finished strong. Overall it was a great experience and I'm definitely looking forward to do it again.
